PPF sits on top of your gelcoat as a sacrificial layer. All damage stops at the film — your factory finish stays untouched underneath.

What is marine PPF?

Invisible Protection.
Real-World Results.

Marine Paint Protection Film (PPF), also called Marine Protection Film (MPF), is a high-performance polyurethane film applied directly to your boat’s gelcoat, painted surfaces, or existing wrap. It acts as a transparent, sacrificial barrier — absorbing impact and environmental damage so your factory finish doesn’t have to.

Unlike wax or ceramic coatings, PPF is a physical shield. It won’t wash off, won’t need monthly reapplication, and — with self-healing technology — minor scratches vanish on their own with heat from the sun.

Preserves resale value — high-use areas stay showroom-fresh
Self-healing surface — light scratches disappear with heat
UV-stable in South Florida’s extreme sun conditions
Saltwater & fuel-stain resistant
Reduces long-term maintenance — less buffing, less polishing
Pairs with vinyl wraps — protects your wrap investment too
Without PPF
South Florida boat owners spend thousands re-buffing, polishing, and repainting every few years — fighting damage that adds up fast.
Dock rash
Every tight marina approach. Every fender that slips. PPF stops scuffs at the film surface.
☀️
UV oxidation
Florida sun degrades gelcoat faster than anywhere in the country. PPF blocks UV before it reaches the surface.
🚤
Trailer damage
Bunk rubbing, tie-down pressure, ramp contact — PPF takes the hit so your gelcoat doesn’t.
💧
Saltwater staining
Fish blood, fuel spills, mineral deposits — permanent marks on unprotected gelcoat. Not on PPF.
Types of marine PPF we install

Clear, Colored, or Matte —
We Install All Three

Every vessel and owner has different goals. Each PPF type delivers full protection with different aesthetic outcomes.

01
Clear Gloss PPF
Invisible protection
Optically clear film that preserves your boat’s original color and finish. Completely transparent once installed — most people can’t tell it’s there. Deep gloss, UV-stable, self-healing.
Most popular
02
Matte / Satin PPF
Finish transformation + protection
Converts a gloss gelcoat or paint surface to a premium satin or matte finish while delivering the same full PPF protection. Style upgrade and armor in one install.
Finish upgrade
03
Colored / Fashion PPF
Subtle color shift + protection
Lightly tinted or color-enhanced PPF that provides a subtle color transformation alongside full impact and UV protection. Great when paired with custom vinyl work.

Coverage Zones — Targeted or Full Hull

Every install is customized to your vessel and how you use it. We can protect your highest-risk areas or go full hull.

🏹
Bow entry
Takes the most impact from chop, spray, and offshore debris at speed.
🌊
Hull sides
Full side coverage protects against dock contact, fenders, and wake debris.
Rub rail & waterline
The zone that contacts pilings, dock edges, and other vessels most often.
Transom
Engine fumes, fuel drips, gaff marks, backing-in scuffs — protect it all.
🏊
Swim platform
High foot traffic, gear dragging, scuba tanks — shows wear fast without protection.
🚛
Trailer contact points
Bunk rub and roller pressure cause progressive damage on trailered vessels.
🎯
Console surfaces
Rod holders, leaning post edges, and console panels all benefit from clear PPF.
🛡
Full hull coverage
Maximum protection. Best resale value. Recommended for new and high-value vessels.

Common questions

Marine PPF FAQ —
Palm Beach County Boat Owners

How long does marine PPF last in South Florida?+
With professional installation using marine-grade film, boat PPF typically lasts 7–10 years in South Florida conditions. Vessels stored on lifts or in covered slips will see the longest film life. Florida’s UV intensity is among the highest in the country, which is why we only use UV-stabilized, saltwater-rated films — not automotive PPF repurposed for marine use.
How much does boat PPF cost in Palm Beach County?+
Marine PPF pricing depends on vessel size and coverage area. Targeted high-impact zone protection (bow, waterline) starts from $1,500. Full hull coverage starts from $4,000 for smaller vessels, with larger yachts priced higher. Every quote is personalized to your specific boat — contact us and we’ll respond within 24 hours with an accurate number.
Is PPF or ceramic coating better for a boat?+
PPF and ceramic coating serve different purposes. PPF is a physical barrier that absorbs impact — preventing scratches, chips, and dock rash. Ceramic adds hydrophobicity and gloss but offers no impact resistance. For South Florida conditions, PPF offers far superior protection. Many boat owners use both: PPF on high-impact areas with ceramic applied on top for the ultimate combination.
Can PPF be applied over an existing boat wrap?+
Yes. Clear PPF can be applied directly over vinyl wrap to protect both the wrap and the surface underneath. This is popular for new wraps on high-use vessels and sportfishing boats. We recommend the wrap + PPF combination for performance boats that see frequent offshore use.
What areas of a boat benefit most from PPF?+
The highest-value areas are the bow entry (impact from chop and debris), hull sides at the waterline (dock rash), rub rail zones, transom (fuel and fender scuffing), trailer contact points, and the swim platform. Full hull coverage provides the most comprehensive protection and the best resale value preservation.
